Development in stages, not leaps
The company has grown through a series of specific decisions rather than a single major upheaval. Automation has been introduced as tasks required it, the assembly department was established in response to customer demand for fewer supplier links, and the machine fleet has been expanded as new types of components have emerged.
The gradual approach means that each new investment has been able to build on lessons learned from the previous one, rather than starting from scratch. This applies to the choice of machine type, the layout of new departments and the systems we use to manage production alike.

Management close to production
The management at RM Fintech is close to day-to-day operations. Decisions on investment, capacity and customer prioritisation are made with insight into what is actually happening in production, not just on the basis of reports and figures viewed from a distance.
The short distance between management and production means that a customer enquiry about an urgent problem can be decided on and acted upon quickly, without having to pass through several organisational layers before anything actually happens on the shop floor.
At the same time, responsibility and decision-making authority are delegated to the areas where it makes sense: planning, quality, purchasing and production each have their own person in charge, who can act within clear guidelines without having to seek approval for every single decision.
Sales and order processing as the first link in quality
Quality starts with the very first drawing review. The sales and order processing function ensures that an enquiry is fully understood before it is passed on to programming and production, including tolerance requirements, material selection, surface requirements and the documentation the customer expects on delivery.
A clear order confirmation, in which the interpretation of the drawing and the agreed conditions are stated clearly, prevents the vast majority of misunderstandings later in the process. It is an investment of time made early on that pays off through fewer clarifications and changes during production.
Dialogue with the customer continues throughout the order, from confirmation of delivery time to notification if something changes along the way. We prefer to inform the customer early if a schedule looks likely to change, rather than waiting until the delivery date approaches.
Planning and capacity management across departments
With turning, milling, precision engineering and assembly under one roof, planning requires an overview across departments. An order that passes through several processes must be coordinated so that the component does not sit waiting between operations, but flows through the facility with a short lead time.
Capacity management takes into account both fixed batch agreements with staggered releases and urgent tasks that require a quick response. The balance between the two ensures that regular customers can rely on stable delivery times, while still leaving room for new tasks.
Planning is supported by the fact that programs, fixture descriptions and measurement plans from previous orders are archived. This makes it possible to resume a known task quickly, without having to plan the process from scratch every time a new order comes in.

The facilities in Nørre Alslev
Production is concentrated at Hartvig Jensensvej 2 in Nørre Alslev, where turning, milling, precision engineering, assembly and quality control are housed in connected production premises. The physical proximity between departments supports the short lines of communication we value in day-to-day internal collaboration.
Storage facilities linked to production make it possible to keep raw material, components for assembly and finished goods separate and registered, so that a component can always be tracked through the facility from receipt to dispatch.
The location in South Zealand/Falster provides access to infrastructure towards both Zealand and the rest of Denmark, supporting stable logistics for customers throughout the country and for the transport running to and from our regular surface treatment partners.
Recruiting and training new employees
With around 34 employees, every new hire is a decision made with care. We look for both experienced CNC operators and skilled tradespeople who can be developed further internally, and we place emphasis on a thorough induction, during which new employees are closely mentored by an experienced colleague in the first period.
Training is tailored to the individual's background. An experienced machine operator from another sector needs to learn our specific machines, systems and quality requirements, while a newly qualified employee needs to build the practical experience that cannot be learned from a book alone.
Knowledge sharing between experienced and new employees is a deliberate priority, because the experience an individual operator has built up over many years on the same type of machine is one of the company's most valuable, but also hardest to replace, resources.
Collaboration with regular partners and the local community
Surface treatment and certain special processes are handled through a fixed network of Danish partners we have worked with for many years. This provides predictability in delivery times and quality, because the collaboration is built on mutual knowledge of each other's processes and requirements.
As a company based in Nørre Alslev, we are part of the local business community and labour market, and we place great value on being a workplace that contributes positively to the local area through stable jobs and a proper relationship with neighbours and authorities.
We are happy to engage in dialogue with local educational institutions and other companies about apprenticeships and the exchange of experience, because a healthy local supply of skilled labour is a prerequisite for Danish production to remain competitive.
